The Coffee Tour

Departure from Dili (Díli) leading west through the Tasi-tolu Lakes, just outside the capital. Before Tibar, with its small fishing port, head south up the mountains towards Gleno, capital city of the Ermera District. As this is the coffee region par excellence, visit some of the coffee plantations as well as the madre-del-cacao trees. Have a break in Ermera for a midday snack and drive through the luxuriant landscapes towards Aileu. Aileu has plenty of history, stated by its varied built heritage. Its church, Portuguese buildings and the former FALINTIL training camp are some of the mandatory stops in the city. Drive down to Dili (Díli) through the typical mountain roads and enjoy the sunset over the capital from the surrounding hills.
