Climbing Ramelau Tour

Leaving Dili in the early morning, travel south on the mountain road to Aileu. Enjoy the rainforest atmosphere of Dare. Proceeding further upwards, visit Remexiu (Remexio) before arriving at the village of Aileu. Head past Maubisi (Maubisse) and drive down to Hatubuiliku (Hato Builico). Once there you can park your vehicle, grab your tent and walk up to the summit of Mount Ramelau, the highest in the island (2960m). Dress conveniently for low temperatures and prepare to spend the night at the summit.
Day 2 [d2]
Sunrise at the top of Ramelau is amazing. With clear skies you have a breathtaking view of the country. Here you’ll be literally “above the clouds”. Head down to Hatubuiliku (Hato Builico) and drive to Maubisi (Maubisse) for a rest. The local market on Sunday mornings is full of people from all around the region. After this break go back to Dili (Díli) through the same road, this time having a great view of the capital on your way down.
