When driving around Timor-Leste remember that you should drive on the left lane. It is also important to bare in mind that the road pavement outside the capital can be in poor condition and that in some parts of the country people are not used to cars. When preparing for travelling, take with you a couple of spare tires, enough gasoline for the trip, food supplies and a tent: adventure and a variety of off-road sightseeing places will be part of this experience. Avoid travelling during the night or alone. If you decide to do so, inform someone of your itinerary.
These driving tours were designed for four wheel drive vehicles and assume the driver is experienced.
